Pedro – What do you mean?
Napoleon Dynamite – You know, like numchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills. Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills.
I can’t teach you how to use nunchucks or hunt with a bow but there is one skill that can help you get girls that’s fairly easy to fake: playing guitar, specifically playing power chords in a punk rock style.
Let’s set the scenario to see how this skill can help: You’re at a party and someone has an electric guitar and amp. Maybe it’s some guy who can really shred, in which case I can’t help you, but more likely he just screws around with it. You can see that if you only knew how to play you’d be the life of the party and all the girls would flock to you. Well that’s where this lesson comes in. I’m going to show you how to play a few simple power chords that sound good enough that people will think you can actually play.
What is a power chord?
I’m not going to get technical here; for our purposes a power chord is simply a chord played on two adjacent strings. Power chords are very common in rock music and are very easy to play.
