I have used Elixers on my Washburn acoustic maybe 5-6 times, and have the same complaint every time. tuning is not good (I use Martin or Ernie Ball, and have no prob with either) and breakage is fast on D, G, and A strings, strangely enough not on the High E or B.... I do play hard rhythm, and bend a lot in solos, to be fair, but do flatpicking and fingerpicking as well, and the breakage is noticeably sooner than with other much cheaper strings. And it seems impossible to replace broken strings, so i must replace with a single from another Brand, and - surprise, surprise - more tuning problems. I live in Germany, maybe singles are available stateside, I dont know. as a professional since 30 years, i have tried all kinds of strings.
